Beautiful sharp voice with truly meaningful lyrics about the human condition. Gandhi is mentioned as being on a parallel to the message of this song. She explains it as a song about being the change you want to see in the world, instead of pointing the finger. The new album out this summer sounds much different from the lead single - prod The Jagged Little Queen Has Returned (5 stars) At last. She’s finally back, with a pop power-ballad, that falls nothing short than what you would expect from her. The sound may be a new "Flavor" for her, but the lyrics are still beautifully written, expressing breakdowns in communication, and turn out to be classic Alanis. "And shine on the outside springs from gloom/Spotlight on these, seeds of simpler reasons/And score bourn into corn" No, I'll admit, this isn't Amazing! (5 stars) The song is great, and I've been listening to it nonstop. She's into R&B now, and she did a great job on this song. I highly recommend it. I can't wait for her upcoming album.
