The Very Best of the Rat Pack (Remastered) – Dean MartinView More By Dean Martin Our ReviewEven though the well-dressed, cocktail-swilling “Rat Pack” was composed of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Joey Bishop, and Peter Lawford; it was Sinatra, Martin and Davis who comprised the singing section of the group. With The Very Best of The Rat Pack all their household hits get the re-master treatment, tastefully mixed to sound like there’s an old vacuum-tube powered hi-fi system piping through your earbuds or computer speakers. Old Blue Eyes christens the party to sail on the swanky “Come Fly With Me” before Dino pipes in with the boozy “Ain’t That A Kick In The Head.” Sammy Davis Jr.’s highlights include a necktie loosening version of “A Lot of Living to Do” covered from the Bye Bye Birdie soundtrack and a playful duet with Martin on the strolling “Sam’s Song.” An alternate version of “I’m Gonna Live Until I Die” recalls a bygone time when people patronizing Las Vegas dressed up in suits and tuxedos instead of sweatpants and fanny-packs. You can almost smell the Vermouth when Martin croons “Volare (Nel blu dipinto di blu).”. Customer ReviewsAWESOME!!! (5 stars)This has the best versions of the songs of the Rat Pack.
