I'm just glad Joe recognizes her talent and passion. Her version of "I'd rather go blind" on their first collaborative album is, in my opinion the best version of that great song! If these two musicians were to lay out the exact format of the first album they would not be takng risks. If you saw the "webisodes" on Joe and Beth's site following the making of this album you might have a better understanding of why they made this. If you were to say you just want to hear Joe, and I am a huge bona-holic, then the argument could be made with him also.
