Our Review

When a band is playing for the same-sized crowd that comes out to see a football game, they really have to bring it, and Three Days Grace’s third album does just that, reassuring fans and newcomers that the alt-metal quartet was born for the big stage. Similarly to 2006’s One-X, 2009's Life Starts Now is heavily inspired by singer Adam Gontier’s inner demons. “Bitter Taste” fires up the album with raw and meaty guitar riffs that hammer down like ‘70s hard rock before the song shape-shifts into a post-grunge rail against the sour remnants left behind by a toxic, back-stabbing, anti-muse. The behemoth sized “Break” follows with similarly themed lyrics that poignantly express what it feels like to be at your wit’s end. But like the album’s title and sleeve art suggest, some positive insight rises from the ashes of all this burning catharsis — especially on the anthemic chorus which punches new life into that age-old “rise above” adage. The melodic “No More” brings the light at the end of the tunnel out into the open with some soaring harmonies, Edge-inspired guitar chimes, and honestly hopeful lyrics.

Different, but in the best way possible. (5 stars)
I am not only writing this review because I love three days grace (Which I do), but instead to try to give an honest review. Most people who love three days grace will find this album a little different, but you will adjust. Some will love it, some will hate it, you will just have to listen to find out. This is my personal preference and opinions on the songs. Bitter Taste- Kind of the basic three days grace you know, not a bad song, but n

Life Starts...Next Album? (3 stars)
Ok so...before you give me a no help on this hear me out. I LOVE Three Days Grace. One X was one of the best albums in 2006, and their first cd was beyond genius. When I heard Break, I was so excited for the album I couldn't handle it. But I hate to say, this album is an oober dissapointment.
The simplicity of the lyrics, and guitar riffs are what's getting me. From the opening song of Bitter Taste, to the dull chorus of Bully, I ju

Incredible Work. (5 stars)
This day in age, it seems as though most bands sell out when they become popular. I feared this for Three Days Grace when I heard "Break." After listening to this album, it's clear that they did the exact opposite. The lyrics and music are emotional and heart felt, and the musicianship is better than ever. Trust me, I'm not big on mainstream rock, but this is an incredible album.
