But a lot has changed in 30-40 years and that includes the choir. This recording is a classic, recorded almost 40 years ago. It has traditional arrangements of many perennial favorites, but would echo some comments here. Check out the newer stuff. Would strongly encourage anyone to check out the Choir's recording with Sissel in 2007 ( Great Choir, Beautiful Voices, Horrendous Recording (1 star) The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is arguably one of the finest choirs out there, too bad the recording of this cd doesn't show it off. The songs have an audible hiss and crackling throughout their entirety and sound one-dimensional. It's almost as if someone taped them using a portable cassette recorder. Absolutely awful sound quality. Pure Excellence (5 stars) The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is always a great joy to listen to! Being Mormon I hear their songs played a lot and their voices are truly amazing. If you enjoy relaxing to great holiday music sung by a choir then you will very much enjoy this whole CD! Also a lot of the songs are very well-known hymns or songs so it is very easy to sing-along!
