Released to coincide with what would have been John Lennon’s 70th birthday Gimme Some Truth is a collection that sequences the songs in terms of socio-political tunes, love songs, songs about life, and early rock ‘n’ roll tunes. As one of the greatest figures in rock ‘n’ roll music, John Lennon was always, at the very least, entertaining. If some of his avant-garde interests were at odds with his mass appeal, Lennon was always ready to write a knockout hit to keep up with the pop charts. He loved both experimental music and Top 40. At his best, he was without peer. It’s impossible to fault any collection that includes “Working Class Hero,” “Instant Karma!,” “God,” “Imagine,” “Gimme Some Truth,” “Love,” “Jealous Guy” and many, many others. Lennon was one of rock ‘n’ roll’s truest singers. His voice was the archetypal rock ‘n’ roll voice, filled with love and irreverence, sarcastic wit and genuine concern. This is an extremely inclusive collection.

STILL PAINFUL (5 stars)
Still hard to listen to after all these years. As good as the music and the man is, I can't forget the pointless violence which deprived the world od his genious.

John Lennon is my Hero. (5 stars)
First of all I'd like to say John Lennon was and always will be one of THE greatest musician/song-writers of all time. His lyrics were straightforward while being creative and beautiful. Not only that, but they were relateable and came from the bottom of his heart. There is no question that John Lennon IS music. He put his soul into music and that is one among many reasons people continue to listen to his music and remember him.
