Lo-Fang is an alias of Matthew Hemerlein, a singer and songwriter who draws from folk, R&B, and downcast electronic music. Also an instrumentalist who can play bass, guitar, cello, piano, and violin — he picked up his first instrument at the age of five — Hemerlein released an album, Hot Nickels, under his birth name in 2011.
